Chapter 7 Reflection

This chapter is about using soft-wares to help teachers' teaching and assessment. I think software can help teachers a lot in teaching. In my class, every time that we have a new topic, I was looking for some apps in Apple store to help our teaching. This week we teach students about apples. I found an apps named "baby 123". It is an apps that can help students counting with apples. This is a very useful apps. I also found some apps about Halloween to match our next week's topic.

Software can also help teachers to assessment. Some software can help teachers analyze students' text results. Teachers just need to type students text score into computer, computer can get the answer by itself which I think will save teacher a lot of time.

Question:
1. How can we make sure the accuracy of software?

Chapter 6 Reflection

This chapter shows us websites that we can use for our future teaching career. Learning how to use different website helps us with communicate with other teachers from different places. It can also helps us inspire the idea of teaching.

I logged in one website on the text book: www.diigo.com. I found some teachers are sharing their rubrics on the website which is very helpful for new teacher like me. We can share our resources and ideas on diigo.com.

I also find a very good website:  http://teachers.net/

We can find lesson plans on this website, it shows us different grades which is very convenient for us to find out what are we looking for. We can also communicate with other teachers on this website. At the mean time, we can share the information of teachers.net with Facebook or Twitter to share with more people.

Questions:

1.   If everyone in the classroom has a computer, how do teachers involve all the students attention?

Chapter 5 Reflection

This chapter talks about how teachers and students will use the Internet. There are billions of information on the Internet. It is like having a big, giant library in the room, and we can access the library anytime we want. Teachers can find what they want to teach online. My friend told me "I do not know how to teach without Google." Internet is also very important for students. Teachers may want students to find some information by themselves online. This is not only just do their homework, and this is also the ability of self-learning. Learning is not only learn what teachers are teaching, it is also very important to find out they students want to learn, and how to learn by themselves.

This chapter is also talks about the plagiarism. Teachers may use different ways to avoid situations where students plagiarize. For example, teachers can give homework site the website or reference they are use for their homework. Teachers can also use the Internet to check if students plagiarized.

Question:
1. Since students can find most of information that they want, will they spend more time on reading a real book? Like students can find summary of Romeo and Juliet, will they still read the original book? Dose the Internet make students lazy?
2. Since the Internet is so convenient, do students need to go to school everyday?

Chapter 4 Reflection

Nowadays, more and more teachers use technology in their teaching. There are also a lot of education website that teachers can find useful material for teaching. Ms.Beth use technology in our classroom all the time. We find interesting pictures which connect with our topics every week. This week's topic is all about ourselves. Kids start to learn about themselves: their bodies, their differences, and what they like about themselves. The kids are very creative. Their different answers can always impress me. Ms. Beth and I find different pictures for them to color, and we also find some interesting songs on youtube for kids to dance--the Hokey Pokey song helps kids to know about their bodies. They can also dance with the song which helps them to do some excises.

The technology really helps teachers and students a lot. At the same time, teachers have to noticed that they have to find reliable website to make sure that they will not teach the wrong knowledge to students. Therefore, teachers have to check where the resource they are using, or the who build the website.

Questions:
1. How dose teachers find the  most useful website to students?
2. How can teachers evaluate the online resources?
